These images have been strongly rejected by the president of the San Antonio Unido club, Guillermo Lee, who expressed his outrage by describing the release of such photos as a “total aberration.”

Lee stressed the importance of respecting the player’s privacy and dignity at this difficult time, and asked the community to avoid spreading the images.

In response, the football community in Chile has shown strong support for Campos, with numerous messages of encouragement and solidarity.

How did Cristóbal Campos’ accident happen?

The fateful accident occurred in the early morning of September 2, 2024, around 1:30 AM, on Route 78 , near kilometer 33.

According to reports provided by Carabineros, Campos lost control of his truck, which resulted in a crash against the guardrails and a subsequent rollover of the vehicle, which ended up on the side of the road.

The injuries suffered were severe, including the traumatic amputation of his foot at the ankle.

After being quickly rescued by emergency personnel, Campos was transferred to the former Posta Central, where he underwent surgery to reimplant his foot.

Despite the initial success of the operation, doctors have indicated that his condition is “dynamic ” and that the long-term viability of his limb is not guaranteed.
